Apr. 7--FREDERICK -- April showers mean more than may flowers. The spring rains and warmer temperatures mean it's time to determine who is going to mow your lawn. More often, that answer is a lawn service. In 2003, 24.7 million households hired a lawn, landscape or tree care professional, and the average household spent $1,267. That's up 11 percent from five years ago, according to the Professional Landcare Network in Marietta, Ga.
