NEW YORK, March 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Scott Marden has been named president of a newly established business group, Philips Software. This announcement was made today by Jan Timmer, president and CEO of Philips Electronics NV, which is headquartered in the Netherlands.
In this new position, initially to be based New York, Mr. Marden will oversee Philips interests in the software area, excluding its involvement in PolyGram NV. These activities include the company's worldwide hardware and software in the Compact Disc Interactive and its cable distribution business in Europe.
