Hampshire's plan commission on Tuesday recommended a large-scale industrial park and 540-home proposal from Van Vlissingen & Co., just days after some Hampshire residents spoke out about the 678- acre development during public hearing.
Plan commission members agreed the development, dubbed Briar Hill Crossing, offers open-ended opportunities for commercial and industrial development in the village.
Although 500 more homes would put more stress on two local school districts, they said the package would, over time, bring money and jobs to Hampshire.
