A petite Asian girl walking alone on the outskirts of Chinatown was struck and killed yesterday by a 5,000-pound SUV registered to the reputed godfather of Boston's mob.
Boston police impounded the silver Isuzu Ascender and described its male driver as cooperative. But it was unclear whether the alleged leader of La Cosa Nostra, Carmen Salvatore DiNunzio, 48, owner of Fresh Cheese in the North End, was behind the wheel when the tragedy occurred at Herald and Washington streets just after 1 p.m.
