SUFFOLK - From military encampments to Civil War-era fashions, the city of Suffolk will revisit the 1860s with its annual Civil War Weekend.
The Saturday and Sundy family friendly event offers re-enactors, storytelling and historical displays. Lantern tours of Cedar Hill Cemetery and daylight walking tours of the historic downtown will highlight the city's colorful past. General admission is free.
Visitors can munch on potato jacks while listening to to bagpipers and bluegrass music. Craftsmen and vendors will be on hand. Children can enjoy painting pottery or sign up to be "recruited" into the ...
