SCOTTISH Nationalist Party leader Alex Salmond, who enjoys the odd flutter, nipped into a North Wales bookies yesterday to put pounds 20 on a 'certain winner' - Plaid Cymru's Eurig Wyn, who is the in running for the Ynys MOn marginal seat But Mr Salmond had mixed feelings about the odds of-6-4 on.
'It means Eurig is looking good and when he wins I will only get pounds 8, plus my bet back,' said Mr Salmond, who, like many punters backed Carrie Ford, riding Forrest Gunner, to become the first woman to win the Grand National on Saturday.
Praising Mr Wyn's record as an MEP, Mr Salmond said: 'A winner is a winner and Ynys MOn has one in Eurig.
