PRINKLED amid the Indian Ocean are the idyllic islands of the Maldives. They are battling back from the tsunami and are once again ready to welcome tourists.
Tourism is worth 75% of the Maldivian economy and it did suffer after the Boxing Day disaster. But it is now returning to previous levels thanks to (mainly British) holidaymakers realising the best way to help is to visit.
Between each of the 1,190 coral islands that make up this watery paradise there are expanses of sea that blend seamlessly into the blue sky above.
