For a newspaper with a tiny target audience, The Danish Pioneer has pulled off a few minor miracles.
The paper has reunited Danish-Americans with long-lost ancestors. Through personal ads, it's brought Danes together in holy matrimony. It's even helped get Danes to celebrate the 4th of July - in Denmark.
Now the publishers of the oldest Danish-American newspaper in the country are faced with their own challenge - how to keep readers from disappearing, and along with it, part of their culture.
