WPS HEALTH INSURANCE ANNOUNCED THAT IT HAS FILED WITH THE CENTERS FOR MEDICARE AND MEDICAID SERVICES TO BECOME A PRESCRIPTION DRUG PLAN PROVIDER UNDER THE NEW MEDICARE PART D PROGRAM.
The new prescription drug benefit, created as a part of the Medicare Modernization Act of 2003, will be available to all new and existing Medicare enrollees starting Nov. 15, with coverage going into effect on Jan. 1, 2006. There are an estimated 835,000 Medicare beneficiaries in Wisconsin.
