Lafarge North America Toronto, the leading supplier of construction materials in the U.S. and Canada, today reported net income from continuing operations in the fourth quarter of $98.7 million, or $1.28 per share diluted, including several unusual items that contributed a net benefit of $0.09 per share diluted. The results compare with fourth quarter 2003 net income from continuing operations of $68.2 million, or $0.91 per share diluted, which included a reduction of $0.10 per share diluted from increased Canadian provincial tax rates.
