Apr. 15--Outgoing Salina City Manager Dennis Kissinger is not surprised that two of the four finalists for his job make a bunch more money than he does.

In fact, they far exceed the salary range of $105,000 to $125,000 advertised by city commissioners when they started looking for Kissinger's replacement.

"I don't have any complaints," Kissinger said Thursday.

After all, Salina is competing for a city manager for the first time in 17 years.

"Every time you look at the market, sometimes there is a little sticker shock," Kissinger said.
