Legislation banning all forms of human cloning - reproductive and therapeutic - was introduced in the Senate on March 17. The bill (S. 658), which has been passed in the House of Representatives twice by a comfortable margin, was introduced by Senators Sam Brownback (R-KS) and Mary Landrieu (D-LA).
"We should take a stand against those that would turn young human beings into commodities and spare parts. We should not use human life for research purposes," Sen. Brownback said in introducing the bill in the House.
