Braskem S.A. (BOVESPA: BRKM5) (LATIBEX: XBRK), leader in the thermoplastic resins segment in Latin America and among the five largest Brazilian privately owned industrial companies, today announced its earnings for the first quarter of 2004. Results are stated in Reals in accordance with Brazilian Corporate Law, except that results presented herein are not in accordance with CVM Instruction 247 as they exclude the effects of proportional consolidation.
