Spring is the beginning of a new allergy season, and for the 20.3 million people in the United States diagnosed with asthma, it can also be a season that can trigger frightening asthma attacks, sometimes resulting in visits to the emergency room and hospitalization. CIGNA Pharmacy Management today announced the results of a program in which participants required 50 percent fewer asthma- related hospitalizations and emergency room visits and decreased their need for asthma rescue therapy by 36 percent.
