Exponent, Inc. today announced that it has been awarded a five-year follow-on contract by the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) to provide smartcard failure analysis and Common Access Card (CAC) program support. The CAC, a leading-edge Java-based smartcard, is the Department of Defense's (DoD) new identification card that also provides logical and physical access to DoD computer systems and installations, and is being issued to military and civilian personnel throughout its service branches.
