American Physicians Assurance Corporation (American Physicians), the largest subsidiary of APCapital, Inc. (APCapital) announced that it remains committed to writing medical professional liability insurance in the Ohio market. Yesterday, the Associated Press issued an article stating the Company was withdrawing from the Florida and Ohio markets. The Company began withdrawing from the Florida market in December 2002, but will continue writing medical professional liability insurance in the Ohio market. The Company did, however, discontinue writing occurrence policies in Ohio after June 2002.
