The Allied Defense Group, Inc. announces the promotion of Major General (Ret.) John J. Marcello to Managing Director of Allied's Belgian ammunition manufacturer, MECAR S.A. Jean F. Vezina, MECAR's current and long-time Managing Director, will remain as Chairman of the MECAR Board. The transition is effective immediately.
Mr. Marcello has been MECAR's Chief Operating Officer since November, 2002. Previously, he held numerous senior operational positions with the U.S. Army, including his last position as Commander of U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command, where he led and managed a $460 million organization of 5,000 personnel in 28 locations.
