Parents who are at their wits' end with the irritable baby from hell may be surprised to be told their child is not naturally bad-tempered - just very tired.
But many parents just don't recognise the signs that their baby hasn't had enough sleep, and instead label him as cranky, explains paediatrician and child sleep expert Dr Marc Weissbluth.
