After Montreal Scott, 15, joined the Suffolk Unit of the Boys and Girls Club three years ago, his life took a positive turn.
Nowadays, Montreal's afternoons and evenings are spent at John F. Kennedy Middle School, where club meetings are held five days a week. He coaches children, ages 5 to 7, and 10 to 12, in basketball and baseball, and enjoys playing ball with his peers.
"Montreal is a wonderful kid," said Latasha Newton, coordinator of the Suffolk Unit of the Boys and Girls Club, one of 12 units in Southeastern Virginia.
