Rigel Pharmaceuticals, Inc. today announced positive clinical safety data for R112, an experimental drug to treat allergic rhinitis, the chronic nasal congestion that afflicts approximately 25 to 30 percent of the U.S. population. The multi-dose trial results indicate that R112 is well tolerated and demonstrates a favorable safety profile in the study population.
Three different dose regimens were studied in groups of six volunteers each and compared with placebo controls over a ten day treatment period. The safety data collected indicated that subjects treated with R112 were indistinguishable from the placebo controls across a wide range of clinical and ...
