Archstone-Smith announced that its Board increased its annualized common share dividend for 2004 to $1.72 per common share, or $0.43 per quarter, up from $1.71 per common share in 2003. This marks the company's 12th consecutive dividend increase -- and a total increase of 110% since 1993. The first quarter 2004 dividend of $0.43 per common share will be the company's 114th consecutive common share dividend paid. The annual dividend of $1.72 per common share represents a current yield of 6.2% based on the closing share price on December 5, 2003, which compares favorably with the average current dividend yield of 1.6% for the S&P 500 Index.
