A National City survey of small businesses in Indiana reveals that over 40 percent of respondents expect to hire additional staff in the next six months. The survey also found that 76 percent of small businesses in Indiana believe the economy will improve in the next six months and over 42 percent plan to expand their operations in the next six months.

National City spoke with business owners across Indiana, meeting in person with nearly 1,200 small businesses on October 30, 2003. More than 40 percent of these small business owners contacted by National City (470 respondents) ...
