Bringing high-speed Internet connectivity and advanced multimedia services to next-generation CDMA devices, Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) and STMicroelectronics (ST) today announced that they are developing a standard cdma2000 1xEV-DV (1xEvolution for Data and Voice) solution. ST and TI plan to jointly market the solution to manufacturers worldwide looking to develop cdma2000 1xEV-DV mobile Internet handsets. Availability of samples is expected in early 2004.
