The Board of Directors of Varian, Inc. today appointed Martin O'Donoghue as Vice President, Scientific Instruments. As such, he will lead the company's largest segment which generated 65%, or $552 million, of the company's fiscal year 2003 revenues.
O'Donoghue succeeds Garry W. Rogerson, who had been acting in the position while serving as President and Chief Operating Officer since November 2002. Rogerson was named Chief Executive Officer and elected to the company's Board of Directors at the same meeting today.
