ATK (Alliant Techsystems) , the nation's largest manufacturer of ammunition, has been awarded contract modifications worth $75 million to produce additional small-caliber ammunition to meet Department of Defense training and war reserve requirements.
The contract modifications from the U.S. Army Joint Munitions Command in Rock Island, Ill. are additions to a one-year production contract awarded earlier this year, which represented the fifth annual procurement under a ten- year basic contract. The modifications bring the total value of small-caliber ammunition orders awarded under the annual procurement to $264 million.
