Alcatel today announced that Saudi Aramco, the world leader in crude oil production, has selected the Alcatel 7670 Routing Switch Platform (RSP) to build a carrier class high speed backbone communications network for Saudi Aramco's mission critical applications. The Alcatel 7670 RSP will provide Saudi Aramco data centers with the enhanced performance needed to preserve existing data, video and voice services, while also providing a go-forward investment upon which to deploy and evolve new Internet protocol (IP)-based services.
