WestPoint Stevens Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: WSPTE) ( http://www.westpointstevens.com/ ) announced that the U.S. Bankruptcy Court yesterday extended the Company's exclusive right to file a plan of reorganization until March 31, 2004. The Company's official creditors' committee has the option to require a further hearing on the portion of the extension from January 31, 2004 to March 31, 2004. The Company is continuing to move forward on a consensual basis with negotiating new terms for a Chapter 11 plan of reorganization with all its major creditor constituencies.
