Article: U.S. Departments of Transportation, Labor and Interior Buy Green Electricity From Pepco Energy Services; Federal Agencies Will Purchase Over 10 Million Kilowatt-Hours of Green-E Certified Electricity, Demonstrating the Government's Huge Commitment to Renewable Energy and the Environment.

Pepco Energy Services, a subsidiary of Pepco Holdings, Inc. and a leader in renewable electricity initiatives in the mid-Atlantic region, has signed agreements to supply electricity generated from renewable sources to the U.S. Departments of Interior, Labor and Transportation. Under an existing contract with the General Services Administration, Pepco Energy Services will supply over 10 million kilowatt-hours of Green-E certified power to the three federal departments through May 2004. Twenty-five percent of the green energy supplied under these contracts comes from regional wind generators and 75 percent from landfill gas electric generators.
