DALLAS _ The NFL television landscape changes dramatically in 2006 when ABC says goodbye to Monday Night Football, ESPN takes on the institution, and NBC gets back into the game on Sunday nights.
The NFL announced sweeping changes to its television partnerships on Monday. If the announcement were accompanied by theme music, the ring of a cash register would lead the chorus.
ESPN will pay the league an average of $1.1 billion a season for eight years of Monday Night Football. NBC's deal for Sunday Night Football will cost the network $600 million a season for six seasons. Add those dollar amounts to previously announced ...
