Knight Ridder has appointed Miami Herald Vice President/Finance and Chief Financial Officer Carlos Abaunza as Knight Ridder vice president and corporate controller, effective in early October. He replaces Margaret Randazzo, who will be assistant to the president and vice president of the Newspaper Division. Abaunza will have overall responsibility for financial reporting, corporate accounting and risk management.
