Surrounded by Special Olympics athletes from 15 states and more than 1,400 ShopKo suppliers, teammates and friends from across the country, ShopKo president and chief executive officer Sam Duncan today presented a check for $2,017,680 to Special Olympics. The donation from the 24th Annual ShopKo Charity Golf Classic, the largest one-day fundraising event in the world for Special Olympics, brings the classic's total to more than $15 million raised for Special Olympics programs in ShopKo communities since its affiliation with Special Olympics in 1994. The check presentation came during a celebration dinner and program at the KI Convention Center in Green Bay.
