A final report published in the August 7, 2003 issue of the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) contains no new findings regarding the coronary heart disease (CHD) data initially published in July 2002 from the discontinued combination estrogen plus progestin (E+P) arm of the Women's Health Initiative (WHI) study. Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, a division of Wyeth , notes that the 24% increase in the relative risk of CHD events for women on E+P vs. placebo reflected in this final report is consistent with the findings published last year.
