MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Brewers demonstrated in the second inning Sunday afternoon just how misleading the hitting with runners in scoring position statistic can be.
The Brewers went hitless in three tries with runners in scoring position in that inning -- not surprising for a team that struggled last season and has again this early season to get runners home. But what that number doesn't say is the Brewers scored once in the inning and twice moved runners from second to third with outs -- including light-hitting pitcher Victor Santos.
Maybe that's why Brewers manager Ned Yost doesn't get caught ...
