Hereditary hair thinning (androgenetic alopecia or AGA) is the most common cause of hair loss in both men and women. Information about the optimal use of topical minoxidil solution, the active ingredient in Rogaine, in treating AGA in men has emerged from a post hoc analysis of data generated by a year-long study of men with AGA.(1) The findings were presented in a peer-reviewed poster at the American Academy of Dermatology's 61st Annual Meeting in San Francisco in March 2003.
