Robotic Vision Systems, Inc. (RVSI) (NasdaqSC: ROBV) today said its Acuity CiMatrix Division's Visionscape(TM) machine vision product line has been selected by a major consumer personal care products company for use in a world-wide automation program to retro-fit existing manufacturing lines. The 18-month program has a prospective value of $1.2 million, and RVSI has received orders from the customer's systems integrator for an initial $150,000 of products for shipment in the current quarter.
RVSI's machine vision products will be used to extend the life of the customer's existing manufacturing equipment while increasing throughput of existing product lines.
