Global Payments Inc. a world leader in payment processing solutions, announced today that its Governance and Nominating Committee has elected Michael W. Trapp to Global's board of directors.

Trapp is a retired Managing Partner of Ernst & Young. Prior to this retirement, he managed the Southeast area, the largest of Ernst & Young's U. S. areas. He also served as a member of the firm's Partner Advisory Council. He is a member of the board of directors of the Ann Taylor Company and The North Highland Company. In addition, he has been an active board member of numerous civic organizations.
