Flat natural gas production coupled with rising demand leave customers in Michigan and the rest of the United States on a "supply tightrope" and facing higher gas prices, a top Consumers Energy executive told a U.S. House panel today.
The utility's president and chief executive officer - gas, Carl English, said the gas supply tightrope "has brought with it several inexorable and unpleasant consequences -- prices in the wholesale market have gone up and that market has become much more volatile."
