Companhia Vale do Rio Doce (CVRD) informs that Aluminio Brasileiro S.A. (ALBRAS), an aluminum company controlled by its wholly-owned subsidiary Vale do Rio Doce Aluminio S.A. (Aluvale), kept its four international certifications: ISO 9001 (Quality Standard), ISO 14001 (Environment Control), OHSAS 18001 (Safety and Health) and AS 8000 (Corporate Social Responsibility) after being audited by the Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQI). Albras is the only Brazilian metals company to hold this kind of multi-certification.
At the same time, Albras achieved five million worked man-hours with no accidents.
