Consolidated Edison, Inc. (Con Edison) has been presented with the 2003 Voting Rights Award from the League of Women Voters of the City of New York. The award recognizes Con Edison's efforts to encourage citizens to vote.
Con Edison was praised for holding many voter registrations drives for employees and the public, and for encouraging people to vote through customer outreach information. The company's full page newspaper ads have urged citizens to "join the 28,700 employees and retirees of Con Edison who will cast their votes this Election Day."
