AVANIR Pharmaceuticals today announced that it presented data on AVP 13358, a novel compound for the treatment of asthma and allergy, at the 2003 national meeting of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI). AVANIR's orally active compound is designed to act early in the body's response to allergens by pre-empting the production or release of mediators involved in the pathogenesis of asthma and allergic rhinitis.
