Penwest Pharmaceuticals Co. today announced that Fred Banti has joined the Company as Vice President of Corporate Development. Mr. Banti, 46, has held marketing and business development positions at several major pharmaceutical companies over the past 20 years including Novartis, Pharmacia and Rhone-Poulenc Rorer. He will be responsible for developing and out- licensing Penwest's product portfolio and will oversee its business development operations and marketing functions. Mr. Banti will report directly to Tod R. Hamacheck, Penwest's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
