R.G. Barry Corporation today reported operating results for the fourth quarter and fiscal year 2002 that were below results for the comparable periods in 2001.

2002 net sales declined to $122.6 million from $134.6 million in 2001. The Company reported a net after-tax loss for 2002 of $11.9 million, or $1.23 per diluted share, versus net after-tax earnings of $932,000, or $0.10 cents per diluted share in 2001. For the fourth quarter of 2002, net sales declined to $47.4 million from $52.1 million one year ago.
