RSA Security Inc. , the most trusted name in e-security(R), today announced that the US Army has selected RSA Security to provide its RSA SecurID(R) Passage smart card software for the signing and encrypting of email, cryptographic network logon and client authentication to Web sites. The contract, awarded to Northrop Grumman to support the DoD's Common Access Card (CAC) program, was competitively procured through the Army Program Management Office SET-D. The US Army has allocated $9 million to this project, and RSA Security has the opportunity, along with two other vendors, to compete for this amount.
