Apr. 20--Jack Raney once considered himself a productive part of society.
The bite from a West Nile Virus-infected mosquito took his strength away in 2004.
Now, the former bricklayer, who spent a month and a half in a coma and needs rehabilitation three times a week, feels useless.
"(West Nile) has made it so I can't be productive," the 47-year-old Upland man said Tuesday at a news conference outside the County Government Center in San Bernardino.
