Apr. 20--New York has its American Museum of Natural History in Central Park and San Diego has the Conservatory in Balboa Park. Now, Miami is set to acquire its own grand home for art with Museum Park at Bicentennial Park.
City and Miami-Dade County and museum leaders unveiled their plans Tuesday for a new Miami Art Museum and Miami Museum of Science and Planetarium that would engulf the neglected park and make it an international attraction.
"Paradise is finally regained," said city commissioner Johnny Winton. "The park became an utter failure, but our vision is to turn it around."
