Apr. 22--Dolores Izzo gazed at the new California Pizza Kitchen and Islands restaurants at the Huntington Beach Mall last week. The modern, sleek buildings stand in stark contrast to much of the rest of the shopping center, which has desperately needed an upgrade for years.
"Wow, these are really nice," said Izzo, 70, of Seal Beach. "It's about time the mall got a face-lift. Just imagine, right in the middle of Huntington Beach you had this big ghost town.
