Tryg Myhren was chairman of American Television and Communications (ATC) when I joined in 1982 as VP of R&D. I clearly remember Tryg saying that if there was one word to describe cable, it would have to be "choice." That has become a significant understatement. From consumer research and from anecdotal stories, we know our subscribers are having a great deal of difficulty in dealing with art of the choices available to them. That's just one facet of choice in cable. Another aspect of choice is the variety of products technologists encounter as they implement cable's services. We see the range of both of these choices as we tour the National Show's exhibit floor.
