The Syracuse school board plans to meet with its hired headhunter at 1 p.m. today to discuss its search for a new superintendent.
It remains to be seen if the public will be allowed to hear public officials talk about the position, which is paid for by taxpayers.
The notice sent out by the board Thursday said the meeting will take place in "executive session," which means behind closed doors.
The closed-door meeting would violate the state Open Meetings Law, says Robert Freeman, executive director of the New York State Committee on Open Government in Albany.
