Apr. 22--A federal district judge in New York has rejected claims Nevada Power Co. and Sierra Pacific Power Co. filed against Enron Power Marketing, a subsidiary of the bankrupt energy giant of the similar name.

The two Nevada utilities, subsidiaries of Sierra Pacific Resources, asked U.S. District Judge Barbara Jones of New York to reverse a bankruptcy decision that threw out claims they filed seeking potential damages of an unspecified amount.

The utilities allege the company manipulated the energy markets.
