Coughton Court was one of the former centres of Catholic conspiracy in Britain.
It was to this 500-year-old stately home near Alcester that principal plotters Sir Everard Digby and Robert Catesby gravitated and to where the news of the plot's failure in 1605 first arrived in the Midlands.
